Applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to pay for tuition, living expenses and transportation for themselves and accompanying family members, as applicable.

Important IRCC Living Expense Update:
For applications made on or after September 1, 2026, applicants outside Quebec must generally demonstrate the required amount for living expenses in addition to tuition and transportation costs. (Baseline reference for 1 person outside Quebec: CAD $23,448/year).

The applicable financial requirements can change. Applicants should use current IRCC requirements when preparing their application.

Accompanying Family Members

Bring Your Family to Canada

Depending on their circumstances, a student’s spouse or partner and dependent children may be able to accompany them to Canada. Each accompanying family member must meet applicable immigration requirements and may require their own application.
